Ep. 12: Visual Supports
In today’s episode, I wanted to discuss the topic of visual support. It's a subject that's gained a lot of popularity, and I've noticed that many people have been downloading the guide I have on my website, which explains how to create visual supports at home.
So, I will begin with the basics: What are visual supports? How these tools present information visually, rather than just verbally, especially for children. Then I’ll explain why we use these visual supports?
Autistic children, who tend to thrive on structure and routine, also benefit from visual support. I’ll explain how these tools can help them navigate their day and serve as a reference when they forget.
I’ll also be explaining how we can create visual support. And lastly, I will talk about where to place the visual support. So, let’s drive straight into today’s episode.
